About Matterhorn detail
The Matterhorn was the last great Alpine peak to be climbed. Edward Whymper tried 7 times before succeeding. The first ascent ended in tragedy when four climbers died on descent. The Matterhorn has four faces, each facing a cardinal direction. A reproduction stands at Disneyland. The mountain generates more tourism revenue than any other Alpine peak.
