About Matterhorn
One of the most recognizable mountains in the world. The 1865 first ascent ended in tragedy when four climbers fell to their deaths on the descent. It is a near-perfect pyramid shape. Edward Whymper raced an Italian team to be first. It has killed over 500 climbers. The Hornli Ridge is the most popular route. It is featured on Toblerone chocolate packaging.
