The supposed resting place of Noahs Ark. The highest mountain in Turkey. It is a dormant volcano. Its summit is permanently snow-capped. The Turkish government requires a permit to climb. Both Armenia and Turkey claim cultural significance. It appears on the Armenian coat of arms.
