About Denali
The highest mountain in North America. Its name means The Great One in Koyukon Athabascan. It was called Mount McKinley from 1896 to 2015. The mountain creates its own weather making climbing conditions unpredictable. Temperatures near the summit can reach -83 C with wind chill. It has a larger base-to-peak rise than Everest. About 1,200 climbers attempt it annually with a 50% success rate.
